Robert Giovannetti
Robert Giovannetti serves as the managing director of public media for Texas Tech University. As managing director he is charged with overseeing all of the University’s public media outlets including KTTZ television and radio, along with KNCH radio in San Angelo. Giovannetti has been at Texas Tech for three years, previously as associate vice chancellor for communications and marketing for the Texas Tech System. He has more than 25 years’ experience in electronic media.
Prior to coming to Tech, Giovannetti produced and hosted a popular daily radio show for Ramar Communications while also serving as sports director and anchor for Fox 34 News. Giovannetti also was founder and publisher for a Texas Tech related website and magazine from 2000 until 2011. Giovannetti also has overseen the production of more than 500 educationally related programs while serving as president of TRI Productions, and prior to that, CEV Multimedia.
In addition to his role as managing director of public media, Giovannetti is the television play-by-play announcer for all Texas Tech produced athletic broadcasts. Giovannetti has a B.A. in Corporate Telecommunications and in December will receive an M.A. in Mass Communications.
