Texas Tech Graduate School Earns High Marks from U.S. News & World Report

Education, Law lead the list of schools honored in 2024-25 rankings.

U.S. News & World Report released its 2024-25 Best Graduate Programs rankings, and four colleges in the Graduate School at Texas Tech University were recognized with high marks.

“Graduate education is vital to research and innovation and to developing the highly skilled workforce needed for economic growth and security,” said Mark Sheridan, dean of the Graduate School. “This survey recognizes the high quality of our graduate programs, the importance and impact of our research and scholarly work, and our commitment to better preparing students to enter, succeed and advance in the workforce. These features attract top applicants to our graduate programs.”

Leading this year’s list of Texas Tech colleges in the rankings is the College of Education, which is ranked in the top 25% of all colleges nationwide at No. 67. 

Also recognized is the School of Law, which made the list at No. 82. In addition to the overall ranking for the law school, 12 programs within the School of Law also made the list, including:

The Jerry S. Rawls College of Business was once again ranked for its full-time MBA program at No. 103 while its part-time MBA program jumped 22 spots to No. 87.

The Edward E. Whitacre Jr. College of Engineering was ranked No. 111, highlighted by seven programs ranked within the top 100. Included is Texas Tech’s highest ranking of all its programs with petroleum engineering at No. 9, the only department to break the top 10. Other engineering rankings include:
