The Centennial Campaign brought home two awards in the national competition for content marketing campaigns.
Texas Tech University has been named a winner in PR Daily’s Content Marketing Awards in the categories of Campaigns for Educational Institutions and Integrated Content Marketing.
PR Daily’s Content Marketing Awards celebrates the organizations, people and teams that create compelling and engaging content for their audiences. They continue to advance the field of content creation, leading to success for their organizations or clients.
Finalists in this year’s program were honored at a special industry event Aug. 1 at the Yale Club in New York City, where category winners were revealed. Learn about the event and winning work here.
Texas Tech was chosen from a wide pool of entries to receive recognition as a winner for its “Eyes on the Horizon: Texas Tech University Centennial Campaign.”
“Congratulations to Texas Tech,” said Brendan Gannon, senior marketing manager for Awards Programs at PR Daily. “Your creative storytelling and strategic brilliance have raised the bar in content marketing. PR Daily is proud to recognize your efforts.”
The campaign’s volunteerism initiative, paid media strategies, guerrilla marketing tactics and traditional public relations approach caused the campaign to stand out. Chief among these were the earned media placements the campaign received on The Today Show and the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Texas Tech also exceeded its key objective, generating 1,137,933 hours of volunteerism and service. A total of 50,751 people participated.
“Winning these awards is a testament to the hard work of so many individuals on our campus who came together to make our year-long centennial celebration an unforgettable and deeply memorable experience for Red Raiders,” said Blayne Beal, senior executive director. “I especially want to thank our centennial planning committee and our subcommittees on marketing, events, alumni and volunteerism for their tireless effort to make this campaign such a huge success. The competition for both awards was fierce, and it’s a great honor for Texas Tech to be recognized nationally for its strategic and creative work.”
