Every Gift Goes On & On During Texas Tech Day of Giving March 25 & 26

Any gift, of any amount, anywhere on campus makes an impact when Red Raiders rally together on Day of Giving.

Texas Tech University encourages all Red Raiders to rally together and give to the programs and priorities that hold the most significance for them during the 2025 Texas Tech Day of Giving, set for March 25 and 26.

"Texas Tech Day of Giving has become a tradition, highlighting the impact the Red Raider family can have on our students, faculty, student-athletes and community," said Texas Tech President Lawrence Schovanec. "It's a chance for everyone to contribute to ON&ON: The Campaign for Texas Tech University and help shape the future of our institution."

The university-wide online fundraising event, scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. March 25 and end at 4:03 p.m. March 26, will last 1,923 minutes, representing the year of Texas Tech’s founding.

This will be the third time Texas Tech has hosted Day of Giving, and thanks to the transition to a new fundraising platform, there will be more than 100 funds for donors to consider when making their gift. This allows colleges, schools and units across campus to highlight multiple areas of need and enables supporters to make a greater impact than ever before.

“What always resonates with me on Day of Giving is the power of numbers,” said Byron Kennedy, vice president for advancement. “This event has become a way to shine a light on how every gift contributes to the collective impact that truly moves the needle for a multitude of programs and, ultimately, the university at large.”

Another aspect amplifying donors’ impact on Day of Giving is matches and challenge funds, which total nearly $50,000 this year thanks to generous supporters. This includes the President’s Scholarship Challenge, where, with the president’s support, every gift to the Texas Tech General Scholarship Fund – regardless of the amount – unlocks an additional $25 for scholarships from the university. This challenge is available for up to 200 gifts, totaling $5,000.

Those looking to participate in Day of Giving in person can attend events hosted by the Office of Advancement and colleges across campus March 25 and 26. The Office of Advancement hold its annual Day of Giving event at the Frazier Alumni Pavilion from 3:30-5 p.m. March 25. Additionally, the College of Arts & Sciences, the College of Education, the College of Health & Human Sciences, the Huckabee College of Architecture, the College of Media and Communication, the J.T. & Margaret Talkington College of Visual & Performing Arts and the Edward E. Whitacre Jr. College of Engineering will host pop-up events for their faculty, staff and students.

Because every gift matters, the core components of Day of Giving are giving, connecting and sharing. Red Raiders are encouraged to donate; connect with friends, family, colleagues and alumni at pop-up events on campus; and share the opportunity to support Texas Tech on social media.

“In addition to giving, one of the most powerful actions we can take to create an impact is to share the opportunity with our friends and family,” said Shannon Wallace, associate director for annual giving. “We can’t underestimate the power our communities have to make a difference.”
