Kansas Chosen for National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility
The Homeland Security Department has chosen a lab site at Kansas State University for the new National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility. The new facility will replace an aging 24-acre research complex on Plum Island, New York, where research was conducted on foot-and-mouth disease and anthrax. The site was chosen over other possible locations including Texas, Georgia, Mississippi and North Carolina. For full the full AP story, click here.
